Zoran Đorđević, born in 1950, is the founder and owner of Meritus, a renowned architectural firm with a long tradition. After completing his studies in architecture, Zoran gained extensive professional experience in various segments of architecture and urban planning, with his work spanning both domestic and international projects.
Before founding Meritus in 1993, Zoran spent nearly two decades (1977–1992) as a leading architect at Energoprojekt, where he was responsible for numerous large-scale projects, with the Grand Hotel on Kopaonik being one of the most notable. During his early professional years, he gained invaluable experience working on projects in Russia, Algeria, and Malaysia, where he developed his approach to design, relying on international collaboration and learning.
As the founder of Meritus, Zoran continued his career in private practice starting in 1993, and the firm quickly became a recognized leader in the field of architecture, having completed over 100 successful projects, with the most prominent being hotels and luxury family villas. At its peak, the firm employed more than 80 specialists. In addition to the firm’s employees, Zoran collaborated with numerous successful architects and experts from other fields, creating a synergy that allowed for the realization of exceptional architectural works.
Zoran is a proud alumnus of the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Architecture, where he had the opportunity and honor to study under professors Zloković, Dobrović, and Bogdanović, leaving a significant impact on his professional development. Through his work, Zoran has built an impressive career that spans more than four decades, and he is still active at Meritus, continuing to contribute to the architectural community through innovative projects and mentoring younger colleagues.
His work and design philosophy are based on a passionate respect for tradition, functionality, aesthetics, and long-term sustainability.
