Zoran Đorđević, born in 1950, is the founder and owner of Meritus, a renowned architectural firm with a long-standing tradition. After graduating with a degree in architecture, Zoran gained extensive professional experience in various fields of architecture and urbanism. His work spans both domestic and international projects.
Before founding Meritus in 1993, Zoran spent nearly two decades (1977–1992) as a lead architect at Energoprojekt, where he was responsible for numerous large-scale projects. One of the most prominent among them is the Grand Hotel on Kopaonik. During his early professional years, he gained valuable experience working on projects in Russia, Algeria, and Malaysia, where he developed his approach to design based on international collaboration and learning.
As the founder of Meritus, Zoran continued his career in private practice from 1993 onward, and the firm has become a recognized leader in the field of architecture, with over 100 successfully completed projects. These include some of the most notable hotels and luxury private villas. Zoran has collaborated with numerous successful architects and experts from other disciplines, creating a synergy that enabled the realization of top-quality architectural works.
Zoran takes great pride in his education at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade, where he had the honor of studying under Professor Uroš Martinović. At that time, the faculty’s dean was Bogdan Bogdanović, whose influence left a lasting mark on Zoran’s professional development. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Zoran has built an impressive legacy and remains active at Meritus, where he continues to contribute to the architectural community through innovative projects and mentoring younger colleagues.
His work and design philosophy are grounded in a passionate respect for tradition, functionality, aesthetics, and long-term sustainability.
